Buddha Air to start Kathmandu-Kolkata nonstop flights from May
Kolkata (TAN): Nepal-based private airline Buddha Air will start operating nonstop flights between this east Indian city and Kathmandu from May 27.
The airline will operate three flights a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on this route.

Air India to operate new flights for Kumbh Mela
New Delhi (TAN): Air India has announced that it will operate new flights to Allahabad (Prayagraj) from several Indian cities in order to ease the rush of devotees during Kumbh Mela.
The new flights will be scheduled from Kolkata, Delhi, and Ahmedabad from January 13 to March 30 this year.

SpiceJet: New flights from Hyderabad to three cities
December 27 (TravelAndy): SpiceJet has launched eight new direct flights between Hyderabad and three cities – Kolkata, Pune, and Coimbatore – from January 1, 2019.
While the Pune and Coimbatore routes will get two flights each, the Kolkata-Hyderabad route will get four flights. Also, the option for a same day return trip to and from Kolkata could benefit business travellers.
Speaking of the new flights, Shilpa Bhatia, chief sales and revenue manager, SpiceJet, said, “Hyderabad is an important market for us and we are delighted to connect the city even better. The city, famous for its delectable cuisine and tourism, is also an IT hub. Our two new flights from the city to Kolkata offers same day travel option which will benefit thousands of flyers who frequent the city for business thereby boosting the state’s growth prospects.”

Stage set for Durga Puja celebrations in Kolkata, beyond
Kolkata, Oct 15 (IBNS/NITN): The east Indian city of Kolkata is in festive mood with the four main days of Durga Puja, the largest festival in the region starting Tuesday.
The celebrations have already started with the city decked up with lights and beautiful pandals. Hundreds of thousands of people — both locals and visitors — are throning the streets to see the pandals and lightings.

Starbucks debuts in Kolkata, opens three stores
March 22 (Notintown.net): American coffee house chain Starbucks has finally opened its stores in Kolkata in a star-studded gathering yesterday.
Starbucks, which has kept its feet in Kolkata for the first time, opened three stores on the same day.

Kolkata-Bali quickest connection by AirAsia

The budget airline claims to have the fastest connection on this route even though the flight includes a change at Kuala Lumpur.
The flight AK62 departs from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International airport in Kolkata at 00:45 and reaches the KLIA2 airport in the Malaysian capital at 07:10. Kolkata-Khulna-Dhaka bus starts
April 9 (TravelAndy): To facilitate travel between India and Bangladesh, a Kolkata-Khulna-Dhaka bus service was flagged off from Kolkata yesterday.
This is a part of several initiatives being taken to strengthen bilateral relations and provide better tourism, road and rail connectivity for citizens of both India and Bangladesh. (Also read: Kolkata budget travel guide)

Full-service Zoom Air takes flight
February 12 (TravelAndy): Zoom Air operated its inaugural flight from New Delhi to Durgapur in West Bengal today.
The full-service airline is scheduled to start regular commercial operations between Delhi and Durgapur via Kolkata from February 15, said reports.
The airline will have daily multiple direct flights from it’s New Delhi hub to Kolkata and Mumbai. It also will have daily flights between Kolkata and Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, the airline said on its website. Continue reading Full-service Zoom Air takes flight
GoAir to connect Hyderabad from Oct 12
Tha airline will operate daily flights from Hyderabad to Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and Port Blair, said the airline.
Tickets for their flights are already on sale.
The airline currently operates over 140 daily flights and approximately 975 weekly flights across 22 destinations.
Vistara to fly Delhi-Kolkata from June 10
May 21 (TravelAndy): Vistara, a Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines joint venture carrier, is set to start two Kolkata-Delhi flights every day from June 10, 2016.
The first will depart from Delhi at 7.20 and reach Kolkata at 9.30. The second daily flight will depart from Delhi at 17.55 and reach Kolkata at 20.10.
The return flights will leave Kolkata at 10.15 and 20.50 and reach Delhi at 12.50 and 23.15 respectively.
The flights will operate on all days of the week except Sundays.
