Me at Ithaca, New York.

I’m Arnab Nandy, aka Andy, and I love to travel.

As a kid growing up in Kolkata, I travelled a lot across India with my parents. But I got seriously addicted to travel only in 2011, on my first solo trip to Thailand.

In that nine-day trip, I made some great friends, ate awesome food and experienced new places like I had never done before.

On top of that, I managed to spend much less than my budget for the trip.

Since then, I have travelled to several places both in India and abroad, and every time, I have managed to have great experiences while travelling on a shoestring.

Travelling on a tight budget does not mean you have an experience that is not as good as the guy staying at the costliest hotel in town. In fact, it’s easier for you to see the life of the local people up, close and personal.

You don’t have to be super rich to see the world!

Many people ask me how I manage to save enough for the amount of travelling that I do, especially considering the sorry value of the INR. Yes, I do save to travel. But I also know the tricks that help me travel cheap but awesome.

My friends and family often ask me for budget travel advice and I love helping them out. So, I thought, why not have a site where I make all this information on budget travel available?

On this site, from the viewpoint of a person with an Indian passport, I talk about the ways you can make the most of your money while travelling.

Many people love to travel but think they do not have the money to do so. I’m here to inspire you because I have learnt from experience that if you really want to travel, nothing is stopping you.
