September 30 (TravelAndy): Online travel service provider Goibibo has launched GoStays, where travellers can book standardised budget rooms across India.
The company has introduced GoStays in its mobile and desktop applications.

Mahabharat fest in Lucknow
September 21 (TravelAndy): In a bid to attract foreign tourists, the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh(UP) is organising the Mahabharat festival in the city of Lucknow from October 2.
The two day long event is a first of its kind to be held in India.

Ziro music fest from Sep 24
September 19 (TravelAndy): The fourth edition of Ziro Music Festival, which is among India’s most popular outdoor music festivals, is just around the corner.
The festival will take place in the beautiful Ziro valley of Arunachal Pradesh state in India’s north eastern part.

15 set off to conquer Mt Needle & Pinnacle
September 18 (TravelAndy): In an attempt to promote adventure tourism in the region. the Jammu and Kashmir state government flagged off an expedition to Mount White Needle (6,600 meters) and Mount Pinnacle (6,950 meters) on Thursday.
Both the peaks are situated in the Nun-Kun massif of Kargil district in the troubled northern Indian state.

Tourism festival in Leh
September 15 (TravelAndy): In an attempt to boost tourism, Jammu and Kashmir tourism department is organising a festival from September 20 to September 27 in the Leh district of Ladakh, said reports.
The event will showcase the traditional products of Ladakh. It will also have handicrafts exhibition, photograph exhibition, musical concerts, polo matches and ethnic food for visitors.

Bus plan to connect India-Nepal-Bhutan
September 15 (TravelAndy): The state of West Bengal in India might soon be connected to Nepal and Bhutan by a bus service, reported the Times of India.
The West Bengal government plans to start buses from Siliguri in north Bengal to Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu and Bhutan’s capital, Thimpu.

Delhi metro walk to boost tourism
September 11 (TravelAndy): On the occasion of World Tourism Day on September 27, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to organise a walk along the metro route for tourists and residents alike.
This program is aimed at helping tourists explore the street charm of old Delhi.

Amphibious vehicle in Goa this Oct
September 2 (TravelAndy): Tourists visiting Goa in October are in for more excitement as Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) plans to launch India’s first amphibious vehicle service in the river Mandovi from October.
The vehicle would be able to carry 32 passengers at a time. It will ferry both in land and in the river. Goa officially will become the first state to make amphibious vehicles available for tourists and civilians, The Times of India reported.

Burua hope for Manali paragliders
August 30 (TravelAndy): Paragliders have discovered a new place to resume their sport after National Green Tribunal (NGT) banned paragliding in Manali’s adventure tourist spot Solang valley, reported The Times of India (TOI).
Burua village, seven kilometers from Manali, is poised to be a perfect destination for paragliders and adventure tourists. With a wider valley, Burua can apparently accommodate more gliders than Solang.

India woos expat Jews
August 17 (TravelAndy): India is trying to woo expat Jews of Indian origin to visit their roots.
In an attempt to boost tourism and bilateral ties between India and Israel, Indian ambassador to Israel Jaideep Sarkar addressed a gathering of 3,500 Indian-origin Jews at the 3rd National Convention of Indian Jews in the country.

UK on India’s e-visa list from Aug 15
August 11 (TravelAndy): United Kingdom is all set to become one of the 36 countries to be added to India’s e-Tourist visa list from August 15.
The e-visa facility will allow UK nationals to apply and pay for their visas online. They only need to carry a printout of the e-visa while visiting India.

India extends e-tourist visa to China
July 30 (TravelAndy): India has decided to extend e-tourist visa (e-TV) to the citizens of China, Hong Kong and Macao from today.
With the latest move, the number of nations enjoying Indian e-TV facility becomes 77.
Australia, Brazil, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Mauritius, Mexico, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and the US are among the 74 countries that are already in the e-TV list.
