IndiGo joins fare war, offers tickets from INR888
October 5 (TravelAndy): India-based low-cost carrier IndiGo has joined the fare war and is offering tickets for as low as INR888, the airline said.
Passengers need to book before October 8, 2016 for travel till April 13, 2017 to avail of this offer, which is available on select sectors and select flights.

Indigo offers tickets at INR806
August 12 (TravelAndy): India’s budget carrier, Indigo, has announced a discount offer with one way, all-inclusive, ticket fare starting from INR806.
Booking for this offer in open till August 15, 2016, midnight, for a travel period of August 18 to September 30, 2016 said the airline.

IndiGo to fly Chandigarh-Dubai from Sept 26
August 4 (TravelAndy): Indian low-cost airline Indigo is set to start a new international route between north India’s Chandigarh city and Dubai, from September 26.
Daily non-stop flights will operate on this route. Incidentally, this wil be the first international flight to operate from Chandigarh airport.

Budget airlines increase excess baggage fees
July 23 (TravelAndy): India’s low cost airlines GoAir, Indigo and AirAsia India have increased excess baggage fees, following a government directive to rationalise excess baggage, said reports.
Passengers travelling in these three airlines will have to pay INR300 for every kilogram of luggage in excess of 20kg, confirmed the websites of the airlines. Earlier, this charge was INR250.
At present, all domestic carriers, except Air India, allow a free check-in luggage of 15kg.
India’s flagship carrier Air India allows passengers to carry 25kg of free check-in luggage.
Indigo starts Chennai-Guwahati non-stop flight
April 7 (TravelAndy): India-based low-cost airline Indigo today introduced its first non-stop flight on the Chennai-Guwahati route.
The flight took off from Chennai at 05.10 and reached Guwahati at 08.15. The return flight is slated to leave Guwahati at 19.15 and land in Chennai at 22.10.

Ahmedabad runway closure to affect flights
March 10 (TravelAndy): To execute a scheduled resurfacing, the runway of Ahmedabad airport will remain closed from 10.00 to 18.00 from April 15 to October 29, said reports.
Following the closure, private airline Indigo has announced cancellation of 14 flights flying to and from the capital of India’s state of Gujarat.
Indigo, which currently flies 24 flights to and from Ahmedabad has announced in a statement that flights between Ahmedabad and Delhi, Goa, Kolkata, Pune, Indore, Bangaluru, Mumbai will be non-operational during this phase. Continue reading Ahmedabad runway closure to affect flights
Indigo adds Udaipur to its air map
October 8 (TravelAndy): Indian budget carrier Indigo is going to start daily flights to Udaipur in Rajasthan from New Delhi and Mumbai.
Four daily non-stop flights to Udaipur, two each from New Delhi and Mumbai, will start from November 1.

Checked-in bags to stay free up to 15kg
July 9 (TravelAndy): India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has rejected a proposal by domestic airlines SpiceJet, IndiGo and AirAsia India to let them charge for check-in luggage, said reports.
The DGCA said such a fee could only be imposed on luggage that is in excess of 15kg.

SpiceJet increases ticket cancel fees
July 6 (TravelAndy): India-based budget airline SpiceJet has hiked booking cancellation charges for both domestic and international flights.
The cancellation charge for domestic flights has been raised to INR1,800 from INR1,500. For international flights, it is now INR 2,250, said the airline.
According to the latest revision, a passenger cancelling a ticket between two and 48 hours before take off has to pay INR 2,250, which is 50 per cent higher than earlier. A passenger cancelling between two and seven days will have to pay INR2,000, and someone cancelling seven to 30 days prior to travel will have to shell out INR 1,500. Indigo introduces 6E Pass
June 5 (TravelAndy): India-based airline IndiGo has launched the 6E Pass that relieves passengers of the worry of ticket price fluctuations.
These passes are pre-paid virtual coupons valid for multiple flights.
