Jet Airways to fly Delhi-Muscat from March 21
February 29 (TravelAndy): Jet Airways will start a daily Delhi-Muscat from March 21.
The flight will depart from Delhi at 23.15 and reach Muscat at 01.30 the next day.

Tibet closed for foreigners till March end
February 28 (TravelAndy): Tibet will remain closed for foreign tourists till the end of March, CNN said.
The Chinese government announced the closure with effect from February 25.

Railway’s tiger tourism worries wildlife activists
February 28 (TravelAndy): India’s railway minister Suresh Prabhu’s announcement to start tiger tourism packages has got wildlife activists worried.
The minister said Indian Railways would offer complete packages, including train journey, safaris and accommodation, for Kanha, Pench and Bandhavgarh national parks in Madhya Pradesh state to spread awareness about the tiger, India’s national animal.

Air India to fly Delhi-Vienna from April 6
February 26 (TravelAndy): India’s flagship carrier Air India is set to start direct flights between Delhi and Vienna from April 6.
This non-stop flight will operate thrice week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Srinagar’s Hari-Parbat fort opens for public
February 25 (TravelAndy): Jammu and Kashmir has thrown open the gates of the historical Hari-Parbat fort for visitors, said reports.
Visitors can buy tickets from the two counters set up for the purpose at Interpretation Centre Chatipadshahi Rainawari and TRC Srinagar.

IRCTC ties up with OYO rooms
February 24 (TravelAndy): Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has tied up with standard budget accommodation aggregator OYO rooms.
Rooms listed on OYO are now available for booking on the IRCTC website.

App to identify squalor at tourist spots
February 22 (TravelAndy): The Union government has launched an app that will let tourists to send pictures of dirty areas at tourist spots to the authorities, said reports.
Named Swachh Paryatan App, the facility will start working at 25 heritage monuments, including Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri, Humayun’s Tomb, Qutab Minar and Red Fort.

Emergency train tickets introduced in South India
February 21 (TravelAndy): In order to facilitate emergency travel for common passengers, Indian Railways has introduced a special initiative which will cater to confirmation of tickets for any one in need.
The southern division of Indian Railways has started a helpline service, which will make emergency quota facility available to everyone, The Times of India said.
Though it is available for anyone in need, preference will be given especially to soldiers travelling at urgent notice, elderly, people who are unwell, solo women traveller, pregnant women, students travelling for interviews and children who need emergency assistance. Comprising five small fishing villages connected by narrow trails, Cinque Terra, located on the coast of Italy Riviera, is a world heritage site that draws a huge number of travellers across the globe.
Tourism in Cinque Terre park will be managed by an online ticketing system this summer. SpiceJet starts Hyderabad & Jaipur to Dubai flights
February 17 (TravelAndy): SpiceJet has started flights from Jaipur and Hyderabad to Dubai.
The airline has announced introductory, all-inclusive, one-way fare of INR6,499 between Jaipur and Dubai. For the Hyderabad-Dubai route, fares start at INR7,999.
