Hanoi (TAN): Vietnam’s Tourism Advisory Board is inviting recent travellers to Vietnam to share online feedback about their visa experience as part of an ongoing effort to improve visa policies for tourists.
The tourism advisory board is a consortium of Vietnam’s leading travel industry stakeholders.
The board intends to gather a significant number of responses which it will then submit to the government as along with a report. December 29 (TravelAndy): VietJet started operations between Vietnam’s Phu Quoc Island to South Korea’s capital Seoul on December 22 this year.
The airline operates daily between the Vietnamese island and Seoul. While flights from Phu Quoc leave at 3.40 pm and reach Seoul at 10.55 pm, local time, the return flights take off at 1.45 am from the South Korean capital and arrive at Phu Quoc at 5.35 am, local time.
VietJet offered souvenirs and flowers to passengers on the inaugural flights to Seoul and back. The airline is also running special promotions on the tickets to celebrate the new route. It has tied up with Phu Quoc’s Vinpearl Discovery resort, which will offer promotions between March 25 and November 30, 2019.
December 19 (NITN): The tour operator members of the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA) have named Italy the most popular or “hot” destination for travellers in 2019, a recent survey by PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) revealed.
The top 10 “hot” destinations for the coming year also include Iceland, which ranked second, followed by Japan, Vietnam, Australia, France, Spain, Colombia, Cambodia and Portugal.
USTOA members also identified their top 10 off-the-beaten path or emerging destinations that they see gaining popularity in 2019: Iceland ranked first, Cambodia ranked second, followed by Croatia, Colombia, Vietnam, Portugal, Bhutan, Bolivia, Myanmar, and Ethiopia.
September 8 (TravelAndy): Vietnam has recorded the biggest increase in tourist arrival in Asia as compared to the previous year, reports citing United Nations World Tourism Organization figures said.
Vietnam’s tourist arrival numbers climbed by 29.1 per cent. The country stands third on the list after Egypt (56.1 per cent) and Togo (49.7 per cent).
A major chunk of tourist arrivals in Vietnam are from Japan and representative of the both the countries’ tourism bodies discussed how to sustain and increase tourist flow between the two countries at the ongoing international travel expo on at Ho Chi Minh City. April 5 (TravelAndy): Vietnamese low-cost carrier VietJet has launched an international flight between Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam and Siem Reap, Cambodia, said the airline. (Also read: The awesome Cambodia travel guide on TravelAndy)
The daily flight leaves Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi at 16:55 and arrives in Siem Reap at 18:40.

October 27 (TravelAndy): South Korea has recently put restrictions on Vietnamese travel agencies offering budget tours to the country at a price lower than VND12 million, said reports.
March 1 (TravelAndy): Da Lat in Vietnam has suspended all adventure tourism activities following the recent death of three British tourists at the site.
According to media reports, the three tourists had participated in water sports at Da Lat, without the required safety measures.

June 6 (TravelAndy): The first capsule hotel in Ho Chi Minh City (former Saigon), Vietnam’s capital, is trying to woo backpackers and budget travellers.
Each 2.5sqm “capsule” of Hotel Kaiteki is air-conditioned with a bunk bed and a safe. It provides ear plugs and curtains to cut off outside sound and light. Television and Wi-Fi are available in each capsule. Toilets are shared.
