Air Arabia woos Indian passengers
May 30 (TravelAndy): Air Arabia has started accepting payments for bookings through Indian debit cards and netbanking services offered by Indian banks.
Indian travellers could already book tickets of the low-cost UAE-based air carrier using Indian credit cards

Nepal: Everest Day low-key after quake
May 30 (TravelAndy): Everest Day was a low-key affair in Kathmandu on Friday, a little more than a month after the devastating April 25 earthquake that hit the Himalayan nation, reports said.
An avalanche triggered by the quake had destroyed the Everest base and killed 18 people.

India: Rohtang pass restrictions to stay
May 28 (TravelAndy): India’s top court has agreed with the National Green Tribunal restrictions on tourist vehicles heading to the popular Rohtang la (pass) in Himahal Pradesh, a north Indian state nestled in the Himalayas, reports said.
Only a thousand vehicles can cross Rohtang each day, on a first-come first-serve basis, till August 14.
Petrol-run private vehicles will have to pay an environmental tax of INR1000, whereas diesel-run vehicles will have to shell out INR2000.

Jet Airways: 25% off on domestic flights
May 27 (TravelAndy): Jet Airways is offering 25 per cent off on all direct flights within India. The discount is valid for the economy class.
Booking is open from May 27 to May 30 for travel between June 15 to October 15.

Dragonair eyes Hong Kong-Hiroshima route
May 26 (TravelAndy): Dragonair intends to start operations on the Hong Kong-Hiroshima route from August 16 and is currently awaiting government approval to that effect.
The Hong Kong-based airline plans to operate two flights a week on this route.

Myanmar: Stage set for tourism in Mergui
May 25 (TravelAndy): The Myanmar government will allow development of tourism in Mergui, its southernmost archipelago, by the end of this year, reports said.
The Mergui archipelago includes 800 unspoiled islands in the Andaman sea.

Manali strike boon for Shimla
May 24 (TravelAndy): A taxi strike in the popular hill station Manali in the north Indian state of Himachal Pradesh is diverting tourists to another hill station in the same state — Shimla.
According to a report in the Hindustan Times newspaper, Shimla Hoteliers and Restaurant Association president Harnam Kukreja said the rush to Shimla and its nearby places had increased because many tourists had been forced to change their plans of going to Manali. UAE nod to multiple-entry visa for Indians
May 23 (TravelAndy): Indian tourists entering UAE through airports will now be able to get multiple-entry visas, a report in The Times of India said.

Scoot to Osaka from Singapore
May 22 (TravelAndy): Singapore-based low cost airline Scoot will operate six flights every week to Osaka from July 8.
“Osaka has long been on our radar and we’re excited to add it to our network,” Scoot’s CEO, Campbell Wilson was quoted as saying in a report. Scoot already flies to Tokyo and Kyoto.

Air Asia starts flights from Delhi
May 21 (TravelAndy): Low cost airline Air Asia began operations from New Delhi on Thursday.
New Delhi will be the airline’s base in the North Indian market. The carrier will now fly from New Delhi to Bengaluru, Guwahati and Goa.

Air Asia’s new Johor Bahru-Bangkok flight
May 21 (TravelAndy): Low-cost carrier Air Asia will start operating on the Johor Bahru to Bangkok route from July 17.
Booking opened for the new route on May 18 and for bookings made till May 24, the airline is offering all-inclusive fares from MYR69 for travel between July 17 and May 31, 2016, Air Asia said in a statement.

SpiceJet offers fares from INR1,010
May 19 (TravelAndy): India-based budget airline SpiceJet is offering all-inclusive fares starting from INR1,010 as part of it’s 10 year anniversary celebrations.
The three-day sale is on and will continue till the midnight of May 21 for the travel period from July 1 to October 15, the airline said.
