Don’t go to Sri Lanka unless essential, India advises its citizens
New Delhi (TAN): The Indian government has advised citizens “not to undertake non-essential travel” to Sri Lanka in the aftermath of the April 21 terror attacks that left hundreds dead on the island nation.
India is a huge tourism market for Sri Lanka.
“The government of Sri Lanka has beefed up the security in the country. A nation-wide emergency including night-time curfew is in place at present which may also affect travel within Sri Lanka,” a statement by India’s ministry of external affairs said on Saturday. Israel’s travel warning in India
December 31 (TravelAndy): Israel has issued a travel advisory for its citizens against travelling to India.
The government of Israel warned of an immediate threat of attacks on tourist, especially Western tourists, particularly in south-west India.

Australia travel advisory against India
November 3 (TravelAndy): Australia has recently issued a travel advisory against travelling to India, following a similar advisory issued by the US, on November 1.
“We advise you to exercise a high degree of caution in India because of the high threat of terrorist activity, civil unrest and crime, and the high rate of vehicle accidents,” said the advisory.
“We continue to receive reports that terrorists are planning attacks in India, including in regions frequented by Westerners. We assess that attacks could occur anywhere at any time with little or no warning, including in locations frequented by Australians,” it added. Zika advisory for Miami tourists
August 20 (TravelAndy): Following the fresh outbreak of Zika virus in Florida’s popular beach destination Miami, the Centre for Disease Control in the American state issued a travel advisory on Friday.
The advisory warns pregnant women and their sexual partners from travelling to Miami.

Australia issues travel advisory against Bali
June 23 (TravelAndy): Australia has issued a latest travel advisory that urges its citizens to exercise caution before travelling to Indonesia’s Bali, which has recently been designated as a Zika prone area.
The government advisory says, “Indonesia is experiencing sporadic transmission of the mosquito-borne Zika virus. We advise all travellers to protect themselves from mosquito bites”.
“Given the possibility that Zika virus can cause severe malformations in unborn babies, and taking a very cautious approach, pregnant women should discuss any travel plans with the travel doctor and consider postponing travel to Indonesia,” added the advisory. Mansarovar travel advisory for Indians
June 4 (TravelAndy): India has advised its citizens to avoid the Nepalgunj – Simikot – Hilsa route to visit Kaliash Mansarovar.
A number of Indians intending to visit Mansarovar through private arrangements by this route are facing logistical problems on account of bad weather, said a release from the Indian embassy in Kathmandu.

Indians advised against travelling to Yemen
April 2 (TravelAndy): India has issued a strong advisory warning its nationals against travelling to war-wrecked Yemen.
The advisory was issued four weeks after a terrorist attack in the port city of Aden in which an Indian nun was killed and an Indian priest abducted.

Nepal offers free to Chinese tourists
December 29 (TravelAndy): In an attempt to lure back Chinese tourists, Nepal has decided to grant free visa to travellers from the country, said reports.
After the devastating earthquake in April, like several other countries, China had warned its citizens against travelling to Nepal. The travel advisory was officially lifted on December 25.
