Chennai airport closed till Dec 6
December 3 (TravelAndy): Tourism has been largely affected in and around Chennai, due to massive flood that has submerged the capital of Tamil Nadu in India.
The Chennai airport is slated to remain closed, at least till December 6, due to excessive water logging caused by incessant rainfall, said reports.

Tamil Nadu to promote eco-tourism
October 21 (TravelAndy) : In an attempt to promote eco-tourism, India’s Tamil Nadu has decided to develop the forests situated in its Kanyakumari district, said reports.
Initially, the state government of Tamil Nadu has planned eco-tourism activities in the wildlife sanctuaries of Kalikesam and Pechiperai sites.
Infrastructure for eco-tourism is already being developed in Kalikesam. Tribals belonging to the Kani community, living in 47 settlements in Kalikesam, will be appointed as eco-tourism guides. They will also cook local cuisine for the tourists. Continue reading Tamil Nadu to promote eco-tourism
Telangana chalks tourism plans
October 11 (TravelAndy): India’s youngest state Telangana, which came into existence on June 2, 2014, is planning a major facelift of monuments and temples before the Krishna Pushkaralu river festival from August 12 to 23 next year.
In an effort to put the south Indian state on the tourism map of the country, the Telangana government has decided to renovate its popular tourist spots along the bank of river Krishna in Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda districts, said reports.
Temples in Chandampet Mandal in Nalgonda district, about 130km from Hyderabad will be renovated. The historical Devarakonda fort that dates back to the twelfth century, is also on the list of monuments to be repaired before the festival. Continue reading Telangana chalks tourism plans
Mottamala set to be a tourist spot
October 9 (TravelAndy): Mottamala, a hill station in Kerala, India is set to become a new tourist attraction soon, reported The Hindu.
Situated in the eastern border area of Palakkad district in Kerala, Mottamala had lost its attraction due to excessive deforestation over the past two decades.
