Vistara to fly Delhi-Kolkata from June 10
May 21 (TravelAndy): Vistara, a Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines joint venture carrier, is set to start two Kolkata-Delhi flights every day from June 10, 2016.
The first will depart from Delhi at 7.20 and reach Kolkata at 9.30. The second daily flight will depart from Delhi at 17.55 and reach Kolkata at 20.10.
The return flights will leave Kolkata at 10.15 and 20.50 and reach Delhi at 12.50 and 23.15 respectively.
The flights will operate on all days of the week except Sundays.
Bookings for this route are already open.
Air India announces Delhi-Colombo flight
June 3 (TravelAndy): India’s flagship carrier Air India will start operating direct flights between New Delhi and the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo from June 15.
All-inclusive return airfares will start from INR15,555, the airline said.
Except Wednesdays, the flight will depart every day at noon and reach Colombo at 3.35pm. On Wednesdays, it will depart at 1.30pm and arrive in the Sri Lankan capital at 5.15pm.
Dragonair eyes Hong Kong-Hiroshima route
May 26 (TravelAndy): Dragonair intends to start operations on the Hong Kong-Hiroshima route from August 16 and is currently awaiting government approval to that effect.
The Hong Kong-based airline plans to operate two flights a week on this route.

Vistara starts Delhi-Lucknow flight
May 18 (TravelAndy): Indian airline Vistara started operations on the Delhi-Lucknow route on Monday.
While the daily flight takes off from Delhi at 12noon, it departs from Lucknow at 1.55pm.
The airline plans to increase the frequency to two flights a day on this route from June 16.

Qantas to fly Perth-Singapore from June 26
April 19 (Travelandy): Qantas is set to resume operations on the Perth-Singapore route from June 26.
The airline will operate five return flights a week, totalling nearly 1,700 seats.
“We’re delighted to be able to offer the Perth-Singapore route with a schedule and aircraft type that will make it commercially viable,” Mr Evans said, adding that Boeing 737 will be used for this sector.
“The service from Perth will arrive into Singapore at 5.20pm providing excellent connections with our airline partners into key regional Asia destinations including Tokyo, Shanghai and Delhi subject to regulatory approval,” Evans said.
Launch fares will start from AUD199 one way, the company said.
Orlando-Havana flights from July
April 13 (TravelAndy): Non-stop flights between Orlando in Florida, US, and Havana, Cuba, will start operating on July 8, Greater Orlando Aviation Authority has said.
“With the changing dynamics in the relationship between the US and Cuban governments, we are pleased to offer these flight options to residents in Central Florida,” said Phil Brown, Executive Director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.
In the first phase, Island Travel & Tours will operate a weekly flight on Wednesdays. A Sunday flight will be added later in the summer.
10 lessons from 3 years of travel sans travel agents
It was in the middle of 2011 when I got on that plane to Thailand all by myself. There wasn’t anyone I know around me to share my excitement.
