Plane-to-plane taxi for BA premium fliers at Heathrow
London (TAN): British Airways has launched a new electric taxi service within London’s Heathrow Airport to shuttle its premium passengers to their connecting flights.
Guests will be transported directly in chauffeur-driven environment-friendly electric cabs, from one aircraft to a connecting flight .
The service, British Airways’ effort to reduce carbon footprint at the airport, features London Electric Vehicle Company cabs. The air-conditioned taxis come with a panoramic roof, gadget charging stations, WiFi, and room for hand luggage, and the rides are free of charge.

India’s first wheelchair taxis to roll out in Goa
December 23 (TravelAndy): In an attempt to make Goa accessible for tourists with mobility challenges, Enable Travel, a travel company serving people with mobility issues, has joined hands with Ezy Mov, India’s first point-to-point wheelchair taxi service provider, to offer guided tours in wheelchair taxis.
Five such vehicles will be run in the first phase in January 2019.
Debolin Sen, head, Enable Travel, said that Goa serves as one of the most popular Indian travel destinations for both domestic and international tourists, but lack of transport facilities for people with mobility issues, including elderly travellers, makes them unable to experience it in its broadest sense.

Goa: Taxi operators oppose govt’s taxi app
August 6 (TravelAndy): Taxi owners in Goa are opposed to the app-based taxi service launching in the coastal state on Monday, said reports.
Members of the South Goa Tourist Taxi Association told mediapersons that the government had not taken them into confidence while taking the decision. Taxis are an important means of communication in Goa, a destination popular with both national and international tourists.

India’s first helicopter taxi launches in Bangalore
March 6 (TravelAndy): If times equals money for you, consider taking the 15-minute helicopter ride to the Bangalore airport from the city instead of spending close to two hours getting there by road, said reports.
Thumby Aviation started India’s first helicopter taxi service with a Bell in Bangalore earlier this week.
The ride costs INR3,500 plus GST and this includes pick up and drop to the airport terminal from the helipad.

Jonathan Powley has been renting out a taxi, van and campervan since April on Airbnb.
The rent starts from USD22 a night, reports quoted him as saying.
