Chandigarh-Leh road trip to get shorter
June 21 (TravelAndy): Road trip from Chandigarh to Leh in India’s Jammu and Kashmir state is going to get faster.
Several road tunnels are going to be developed along this route, which is expected to reduce the journey time by approximately 3 hours, reported The Business Standard.
Along this route, the 310 kmvstretch between Chandigarh and Manali will be reduced by 30 Km. This will be made possible by construction of five tunnels across Kiratpur in Punjab and Ner Chawk in Himachal Pradesh. Continue reading Chandigarh-Leh road trip to get shorter
Ladakh is primarily about colours
Adjectives pitter-patter like a steady drizzle during my chat with three friends who have just returned from a trip to Ladakh in north India.
Mesmerising. Beautiful. Mind-blowing. Unbelievable. Incredible…
I realise that though they are describing landscapes for the most part, the adjectives are usually about the contrasting colours of Ladakh. The sky, the mountains, the deserts and the rivers mix to emerge as this delectable cocktail that gives you a high no alcohol can match. Continue reading Ladakh is primarily about colours

How travel teaches you perspective
If you’re a regular reader, you would know that earlier this year, I went on a three-week road trip with a stranger in Western Australia.
Significantly, she was not just any stranger, but someone from different country. Kat is German, but had been staying in Australia for seven months when we met and immediately headed out on our trip.
It was funny how we saw the same things from very different perspectives.
Ten reasons to go to Western Australia

Here are ten reasons to go to Western Australia. Continue reading Ten reasons to go to Western Australia

Why road trip in Australia is a good idea
Three weeks. Zero planning in advance. A campervan.
That was the idea. And boy, was it awesome! We did some 4,500 kilometres and were ready for 4,500 more when, sadly, the 21 days came to an end. Continue reading Why road trip in Australia is a good idea
Two kangaroos & some countryside hospitality
By the afternoon of my ninth day in Australia, I had seen six dead kangaroos by the road (apparently killed by cars) and eaten a seventh. I was starting to wonder if I’d actually see any live ones.
We had had a nice day exploring Kalbarri National Park and its incredible gorges and there were still a few hours to go before the sun set when we were driving out of the national park to a rest area by the Northwest Coastal Highway, where we intended to stay the night. Why I’m excited about visiting Australia
Most people going to Australia go to the eastern coast because that is where all the major cities are. Few people go to the west, which is exactly why I am doing a road trip in Western Australia.
Here’s why I’m excited about visiting Australia. Continue reading Why I’m excited about visiting Australia
