Jet Airways & Fiji Airways ink codeshare deal

Logo R1 square bgMarch 7 (TravelAndy): Jet Airways, India’s full-service premier international airline and Fiji Airways, Fiji’s National Airline, have announced a code-share partnership which offers guests travelling on both carriers convenient and seamless connectivity between India and Fiji via Singapore and Hong Kong. Apart from connectivity, this increases the scope of Jet’s popular frequent flier programme JetPrivilege.

The codeshare agreement, a first-of-its-kind between the airlines of the two countries, will address the growing demand for travel between India and Fiji.

Jet Airways will place its ‘9W’ code on Fiji Airways’ flights from Singapore and Hong Kong to Nadi, and Fiji Airways will place its ‘FJ’ code on Jet Airways’ services between Singapore and Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai as well as between Hong Kong and Mumbai & Delhi. Hong Kong stops visa-free entry for Indians

Logo squareDecember 22 (TravelAndy): Hong Kong has announced the withdrawal of visa-free entry for Indian nationals, with effect from January 23, 2017, said the official website of the immigration department of Hong Kong.

Indian travelers will now have to apply for a pre-arrival registration, which can be completed online, in order to enter Hong Kong.

“Indian nationals must apply for and successfully complete pre-arrival registration online before they can visit or transit the HKSAR visa-free (if seeking to enter the HKSAR during transit). Pre-arrival registration is not required for Indian nationals in direct transit by air and not leaving the airport transit area,” the department said. Continue Reading →

Hong Kong-Gold Coast direct flights from Jan

WA kangarooAugust 1 (TravelAndy): Hong Kong Airlines will start direct flights between Hong Kong and Australia’s Gold Coast from January 8, 2016. This will mark the airline’s first Australian destination.

Thrice-a-week flights will operate on the Hong Kong-Gold Coast route on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The return flight, which will have a stopover at Cairns, will fly on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

“The route is designed to cater to the growing demand for tourism in Gold Coast and Cairns,” Li Dianchun, commercial director of Hong Kong Airlines, said. Continue Reading →

India extends e-tourist visa to China

Logo squareJuly 30 (TravelAndy): India has decided to extend e-tourist visa (e-TV) to the citizens of China, Hong Kong and Macao from today.

With the latest move, the number of nations enjoying Indian e-TV facility becomes 77.

Australia, Brazil, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Mauritius, Mexico, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and the US are among the 74 countries that are already in the e-TV list. Continue Reading →
