‘The Sweater Guy’ knits sweaters of holiday spots, takes selfies
New York City (TAN): Travel can do you wonders, or at least bring out your creative best. And that’s what it did to Sam Barsky.
At age 43, Sam knits sweaters of famous global destinations, followed by travelling to the actual sites and clicking photos of himself wearing his creations.
The resident of Baltimore in the US east coast stitched his first sweater with an actual trip in mind about twenty years ago, that of the Stonehenge in the United Kingdom, and has knit 132 sweaters since.
Although the first sweater ‘of a specific landmark was the Tower Bridge in London’. “I was inspired by a picture I saw in a magazine. I had never been there before and did not make it for a specific trip. But, once I started knitting more landmarks, like the Golden Gate Bridge and Venice, I knew I wanted to go there while wearing them,” Forbes quoted him as saying.

Egypt promotes itself at Football World Cup
June 17 (TravelAndy): Egypt is promoting itself at the Football World Cup, currently on in Russia, to attract visitors to the North African country.
Egypt tourism minister Rania al-Mashat said the campaign, named “Egypt – Experience & Invest”, which will be prompted in the tournament’s 64 matches, will help attract tourists to Egypt, said reports.

Indian tourist e-visa for 36 new countries
July 15 (TravelAndy): To make the country more accessible to foreign visitors, India is planning to extend its e-Tourist visa facility to 36 more countries shortly, said reports.
With approvals from the ministry of home affairs, citizens of Iran, Egypt, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Maldives, Italy, Nigeria, Turkey, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan and Morocco will be among the new countries that will get the e-visa service.

Egypt building underwater museum
December 30 (TravelAndy): Egypt has started developing an underwater museum, which is going to showcase the underwater relics of the country’s ancient civilisation.
The mediterranean city of Alexandria has been chosen as the site for the museum, said reports.
