WestJet plans to launch ultra-low-cost carrier
April 26 (TravelAndy): WestJet has announced its intention to launch a new, ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) in Canada subject to agreement with its pilots and any required regulatory approvals.
Service is expected to start in late 2017 with an initial fleet of 10 high-density Boeing 737-800s. The ULCC will provide Canadians with no-frills, lower-cost travel options.

Indigo adds Mangalore to its flight network
April 19 (TravelAndy): IndiGo, Indian low-cost carrier has announced Mangalore as its new destination, said the airline in a release.
Effective May 01 2017, IndiGo will operate daily non-stop flights from Mangalore to Bengaluru and Mumbai at fares starting Rs 1499.
Mr. Aditya Ghosh, President and Whole Time Director, IndiGo said, “Mangalore, an important seaport and a major commercial centre in Karnataka with the state’s second busiest airport, is fast gaining prominence as a business hub and a tourist gateway. IndiGo extends INR799 sale till Dec 10
December 8 (TravelAndy): Indian low-cost airline IndiGo has extended its INR799 sale till December 10.
The airline is offering all-inclusive fares starting from INR799 on select routes for travel between December 20, 2016 and October 28, 2017.

NewLeaf to take off on July 25
June 23 (TravelAndy): Canadian low-cost carrier, NewLeaf today announced to start operations from July 25.
“Today, I am happy to announce that we are one again, as a re-seller of airline seats, are accepting customer bookings, and that we will be taking to the skies on July 25,” the company’s CEO Jim Young said at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport today. NewLeaf fails to keep Feb 12 flight date
January 20 (TravelAndy): Canadian low-cost carrier, NewLeaf has suspended its plan to start flights following a licence issue raised by Canadian Transportation Agency.
According to reports, the airline has decided to refund all credit card transaction for tickets booked to avail the flight service, which was initially scheduled to begin from February 12.

GoAir offers fares from INR601
October 29 (TravelAndy): GoAir has joined the host of airlines offering discounts now.
The airline is offering fares starting from INR601 excluding taxes for bookings till November 1. The travel dates for these tickets are from November 23 to December 16.
