February 9 (TravelAndy): India has officially launched the much awaited 24X7 tourist infoline, which will assist tourists across the world, in 12 international languages.

This toll free helpline service will be available on 1800111363 or on a short code 1363.

Apart from Hindi and English, the other languages included in the helpline are Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

This service is intended to provide hassle free information, related to tourism, to both domestic and international travellers.

Primarily, this helpline is aimed at catering to visitors, who know very little about India and its tourism. It will also assist tourists during distress and natural disaster.

Additionally, an app named “Incredible India” will be launched soon to further facilitate smooth travel across India, said Mahesh Sharma, tourism minister, India.
