October 24 (TravelAndy): India’s Karnataka state in going to start underwater sports off Netrani Island, situated off the beaches of Uttara Kannada district, said The New Indian Express.
Adventure activities like Scuba diving and snorkeling are slated to begin in Netrani from Decemebr this year.
Located at a distance of 18km from Murudeshwara in Uttara Kannada, Netrani Island has adequate coral and a school of coral-dependent fish, which will make the underwater a treat for divers.
Among other attractions, the island is home to edible-nest swiftlets and the endangered white-bellied eagles.
After Goa, Andamans and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep, Utatra Kannada is set to become the newest scuba diving destination in India.
