Tourists return to Nepal’s Khumbu

Logo squareOctober 17 (TravelAndy): Tourism activities in Nepal’s popular Khumbu region have started to recover after being badly hit by the devastating earthquake of April 25, said a report in Kathmandu Post.

The roads that were damaged in the earthquake are being reconstructed.

September is one of the peak tourist seasons in the Himalayan valley. Businessmen dependent on tourism are happy to see an increase in both domestic and foreign tourists.

The Lukla airport, which is close to Khumbu, is seeing between 20 and 25 flights operating each day. The number had gone down after the quake.

The economy of Nepal is heavily dependant on tourism.
