February 2 (TravelAndy): Jet Airways is set to start a Wi-Fi enabled in-flight entertainment streaming service for passengers on board.
This service will include wireless streaming of movies, TV programmes, music, interactive games, and children’s programmes directly to the travellers’ Wi-Fi enabled devices such as smart phones, laptops and tablets, the airline said in a statement.
The facility is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2016. It will initially be launched in Jet Airways’ Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft.
The airline plans to upgrade this streaming system into complete broad-band satellite connectivity in the future, providing on board passengers with services including Internet surfing, e-mail, social media, connecting flight information and instant messaging among others.
Jet Airways currently operates flights across 73 destinations — 51 in India and 22 international.
