Look to London for Christmas fun
December 20 (TravelAndy): If you look forward to celebrating the holidays with stunning theatre productions, festive ballets, and Christmas pantomimes with your entire family, London is just the place to be. In addition to the spectacular shows, the city is all set to blow your mind with beautifully adorned Christmas trees, winter adventure, and holiday markets.
Christmas ballet enthusiasts are in for a treat with the Royal Ballet’s ‘The Nutcracker’ at the Royal Opera House, through January 15, English National Ballet’s ‘The Nutcracker’ at the London Coliseum, through December 30, and ‘Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake’ featuring an all-male cast at Sadler’s Wells Theatre, through January 27.
Pantomime lovers can spend time this holiday season with ‘Snow White’ at the London Palladium, through January 13, or ‘Aladdin’ and his genie at Hackney Empire, through January 6. Fans can also embark on a journey to Neverland with ‘Peter Pan’ at the Richmond Theatre, through January 6. Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ at the Old Vic, through January 19, and the award-winning ‘War Horse’ at the National Theatre, through January 5 are the holiday plays to choose from.
Fremantle WA’s favourite entertainment venue
October 14 (TravelAndy): Fremantle is WA’s favourite inner-city entertainment precinct, according to research commissioned by Tourism WA.
The Perth Entertainment Precincts report rates Perth CBD, Fremantle, Elizabeth Quay, Northbridge, Scarborough, Beaufort Street, Subiaco, Victoria Park and Leederville according to safety, vibrancy, range of venues and activities, and accessibility by public transport.The report also looks at why people visited these precincts, the types of venues they frequented, how often they travelled to these areas and who accompanied them.
Perth CBD was the most visited precinct while Subiaco was considered the safest. Northbridge was viewed as the most vibrant area and most people said they visited at night rather than during the day. Continue reading Fremantle WA’s favourite entertainment venue
Jet Airways to start in-flight Wi-Fi service
February 2 (TravelAndy): Jet Airways is set to start a Wi-Fi enabled in-flight entertainment streaming service for passengers on board.
This service will include wireless streaming of movies, TV programmes, music, interactive games, and children’s programmes directly to the travellers’ Wi-Fi enabled devices such as smart phones, laptops and tablets, the airline said in a statement.

A doze of laughter before take off
November 15 (TravelAndy): Adam Stoaling, a pilot of British budget carrier EasyJet, is doing his bit to make travel a little more entertaining for budget travellers.
According to an Olive Press report, Stoaling, who is also a comedian, usually flies on the Malaga-London Southend route. He routinely performs a five-minute stand-up comedy before flying the aircraft.
“He welcomed us aboard, said he felt budget air travel had become unenjoyable and then told a few jokes,” Malaga-based singer Arran Harding told Olive Press. Continue reading A doze of laughter before take off
