Indonesia: Stage set for Tomohon flower fest

August 7 (TravelAndy): Tomohon, in central Indonesia, is all set to host the annual international flower festival from August 8 to August 12, 2017.

The festival will feature several engaging activities like street parade at the main streets of Tomohon on Aug. 8, a beauty pageant contest, the Tournament of Flowers and a flower exhibition.

“The parade will showcase flower-themed outfits created by local and national designers,” tourism ministry’s Archipelago marketing development deputy Esthy Reko Astuti told the Jakarta Post.

The festival will also display art and Culture Show that will show the wealth of archipelago through various art and culture from various regions, both in North Sulawesi and Indonesia as a whole.

Additionally, flower excursions will be conducted that will feature the richness of floriculture in a variety of unique and interesting designs.

The Indonesian popular television music competition X factor famed singer Novita Dewi is expected to perform in the festival.

Indonesia expects to have a significant number of domestic and international tourists to attend this festival.
