December 21 (TravelAndy): India’s state of Andhra Pradesh is planning a series of festival in 2016, in order to attract more tourists to the state.
A total of nine tourism festivals are on theĀ cards, reported the The Times of India.
These include Buddha Jayanthi festival at Amaravathi and Nagarjuna Konda, Flamingo festival at Nellore, Lepakshi festival at Ananthapur, Rayalaseema food and cultural festival at Tirupati, Visakha Utsav in Vizag, Kakinada Beach festival, shopping festival at Vijayawada, Konaseemaprabalu festival in East Godavari district and tribal festival in Araku, confirmed the tourism department of Andhra Pradesh.
In order to attract international tourists, the state is banking on Vizag and Konaseema back waters.
“Apart from these nine mega festivals, we are aiming to conduct tourism festivals across the state for at least 50 days out 365 days in the year,” said Andhra Pradesh tourism commissioner RP Khajuria.
