June 11 (TravelAndy): India’s Andhra Pradesh state is set to build the country’s first sea pools on the beaches of Vishakhapatnam, said reports.
During the first phase, four pools will be built on a pilot basis at the four popular beaches of Rushikonda, Mangamaripeta, Sagaranagar, and Lawson’s Bay.
The idea of constructing sea pools is to allow tourists to enjoy a safe bath in the beach, without the fear of drowning.
The decision of constructing these sea pools was conceived following a recent accident where a couple drowned off the Ramkrishna beach in Vishakhapatnam.
These pools will be similar to the the elevated sea pools present in South Africa and the US.
These structures, once built, are expected to attract both domestic and international tourists.
