March 3 (TravelAndy): The popular beach town of Digha in India’s West Bengal state is set to be developed as an international tourist destination, said reports.
The state government has planned to introduce cable cars and a toy train track along the coast from Digha to Udaypur on the West Bengal-Odisha border.Additionally, a 20km sea-front driveway between Digha and Mandarmani is also on the cards.
The coastline of West Bengal is dotted with beach destinations such as Digha, Mandarmani, Sankarpur and Tajpur.
While Digha has been the favourite weekend destination for people living in and around Kolkata for decades, the other destinations came up much later to cash in on the town popularity and it’s spillover visitors.
