Focus on fort tourism in Maharashtra
May 23 (TravelAndy): India’s western state of Maharashtra will equip some of its royal forts with facilities that would attract tourists, said The Times of India.
Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation has shortlisted five forts for development — Ramshej fort in Nashik, Harihar in Trimbakeshwar, Ankai Tankai near Yeola, Salher and Mulher near Satana.
The infrastructure to be introduced in and around each fort are a facilitation centre, tourists’ study centre, washrooms, restaurants, gift and local handicraft centre, parking, lodging and electrification. Continue reading Focus on fort tourism in Maharashtra
Tourism plan for Jungle mahal
March 28 (TravelAndy): India’s West Bengal state is mulling major tourism activities in and around the districts of Bankura, Purulia and West Midnapore, The Statesman said.
This region, popularly known as the Jungle Mahal, will shortly get cable car rides for tourists.

Kedarnath gets tourism boost
October 18 (TravelAndy): After the devastating flash floods of 2013, Kedarnath in India’s Uttarakhand is set to be reconstructed with amenities for tourism, said reports.
Uttarakhand has planned 20 development projects for this popular pilgrimage and trekking route in the Garhwal Himalayas.
The projects include reconstruction of a second helipad in Kedarnath, installing WiFi connections in the area to facilitate communication for the pilgrims and trekkers. Continue reading Kedarnath gets tourism boost
