First pilgrimage train chugs out of Amritsar
January 4 (TravelAndy): Punjab has flagged off its first Tirth Yatra train from Amritsar to Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazoor Sahib at Nanded in Maharashtra, said reports.
This special train has 18 coaches and can accommodate 1,080 passengers.

Punjab calling for birdwatchers
December 20 (TravelAndy): More than 70,000 migratory birds have already been spotted at Harike Wildlife Sanctuary in Ferozepur, Punjab, said reports.
“If all goes well, the number of migratory birds this year will increase. Last year, as many as 82,100 birds were spotted,” said forest official Charanjit Singh.

Punjab looks to boost rural tourism
November 28 (TravelAndy): In an attempt to attract tourists from across the globe, India’s Punjab state is hosting a workshop on rural tourism in Amritsar from December 1.
The project aims at getting tourists to experience a rich pastoral environment where they can stay in eco-friendly cottages and experience the farming tradition of Punjab, said reports.
