Oman’s SalamAir takes flight
January 31 (TravelAndy): Oman’s new low-cost airline SalamAir operated its first commercial flight on January 29.
The airline started with a domestic flight between Oman’s port capital Muscat and Salalah, capital of Dhofar province in the country’s south.

Oman Air to fly Muscat- Guangzhou from Dec 9
December 5 (TravelAndy): Oman Air, the flagship carrier of the sultanate of Oman, is launching a new flight route between its capital Muscat and Guangzhou, China, from December 9, 2016.
Four times a week flight will take off from Muscat on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays; on the other hand it will depart from Guangzhou on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, said the airline.

IndiGo to fly Chennai-Muscat direct from Dec 15
November 19 (TravelAndy): Indian low cost carrier IndiGo is going to start a new daily direct flight between Chennai in India and Muscat in Oman, from December 15, 2016, said reports.
The all-in introductory price of one-way tickets is INR7999.

Jet Airways to fly Delhi-Muscat from March 21
February 29 (TravelAndy): Jet Airways will start a daily Delhi-Muscat from March 21.
The flight will depart from Delhi at 23.15 and reach Muscat at 01.30 the next day.

Trekkers look to conquer largest desert
December 12 (TravelAndy): British explorer Mark Evans along with two of his Omani colleagues are setting off for a trek across Empty Quarter, the world’s largest continuous sand desert, said reports.
The desert is located in the southern side of the Arabian peninsula.
Mark Evans, the 54 year old adventure traveller, is looking forward to trace the 1300 km stretch beginning from Salalah in southern Oman to Doha in Qatar, in approximately two months. Continue reading Trekkers look to conquer largest desert
