Emirates: A380 to connect Amman with Dubai in summer 2019
Dubai (TAN): Emirates has announced it will operate its Airbus A380 between Dubai and Amman during peak summer months this year. The upgraded service, as a remedy to higher seasonal demand, will run from June 1 to October 26, 2019.
Adil Al Ghaith, senior vice president, commercial operations for Gulf, Middle East and Iran, Emirates, said, “Jordan has been a strategically important market in this region for Emirates for a long time. The upgrade to an A380 service to Amman during the peak summer period is in line with our strategy to better serve seasonal peaks, and strengthen our presence in key markets by providing an industry-leading experience for our customers, and offering them a seamless A380 experience via Dubai to major destinations in the world.”

There’s no place better than NYC during the holidays
December 10 (TravelAndy): The most wonderful time of the year is also among one of the best to visit New York City, when it offers an extensive fare of holiday events to choose from – spectaculars, ballets, holiday markets, comedy, and music.
Everyone’s holiday favourite ‘The Nutcracker’ alone is all set to be presented in a variety of forms. One can catch ‘George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker’, running since 1954, at New York City Ballet through December 30, or New York Theater Ballet’s one-hour version at Florence Gould Hall between December 14 and 16. While Mark Morris’s Pop Arty ‘The Hard Nut’ will show from December 14 to 23, Ditto Company XIV’s burlesque ‘Nutcracker Rouge’ will run through Jan 13, 2019. ‘The Bang Group: Nut/Cracked’ from December 20 to 22, ‘Los Nutcrackers: A Christmas Carajo’ through December 15, and ‘Micro-Nutcracker’ on December 16 are some of the deconstructed takes on the classic.
Spectaculars are a tradition the city adores, and the Rockettes return to the Radio City Music Hall with their annual ‘Christmas Spectacular’, to run through January 1, 2019. ‘A Harlemettes Holiday’, a pageant produced by the Harlem School of Arts will run from December 14 to 16.

Buses offer efficient & economical travel options within US
You cannot travel through the US unless you have your own car.
How many times have you heard that? I have heard it on plenty of occasions and it is not entirely false.
The public transport system is the US is pretty bad. You do have the underground and buses in cities but when you need to travel between cities, it’s convenient if you have a car. There are trains and planes, but they are quite expensive. If you are on a budget, you would rather not use those.

Beacon, NY, tops list of coolest American small towns
July 23 (TravelAndy): Beacon in New York state has topped Budget Travel‘s list of 10 coolest small towns in the US in 2018.
All the towns in the list has population under 20,000.
“Beacon is a vibrant, forward-thinking little city in Dutchess County, New York, an easy day trip or weekend escape from New York City,” the article says.
Stating that the town has since long been a manufacturing centre, especially for casting works and other big metal works, the article says, “These days, a new generation of makers calls Beacon home, including the artisans at Zora Dora’s gourmet handmade paletas (popsicles), the craft brewers at Hudson Valley Brewery, bakers at Glazed Over Donuts, the knitters at Loopy Mango boutique, and the mixologists and chefs at the Roundhouse and other excellent eateries ranging from tacos to BBQ to upscale comfort food.” Continue reading Beacon, NY, tops list of coolest American small towns
Sleep cheap in a New York taxi
August 16 (TravelAndy): Are you looking for a place to crash in central New York but don’t have much cash to spare? Consider sleeping in a taxi for around USD39.
Jonathan Powley has been renting out a taxi, van and campervan since April on Airbnb.
The rent starts from USD22 a night, reports quoted him as saying.

JetBlue starts New York-Havana flight
July 5 (TravelAndy): American airline JetBlue started flights between New York and Cuba’s capital Havana on Friday, said reports.
After the US government eased travel restrictions to Cuba, JetBlue is the first airline to charter direct flights from the John F. Kennedy airport in New York to Havana’s Jose Marti International Airport.
The weekly flight takes off from New York at 12noon and reach Havana at 3.30pm local time. The return flight leaves Havana at 4.30pm and arrives at New York at 8pm. Continue reading JetBlue starts New York-Havana flight
