Shimla to revive British era charm
December 6 (TravelAndy): Himachal Pradesh is planning to restore Shimla to its British era charm, reported The Times of India.
Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has decided to provide Shimla with the architecture of the British era. Particularly, the stretch between Telegraph office and Shimla Club will soon be transformed into its old world charm.
Street architecture will be redesigned to provide Shimla with the English heritage character. Street lighting will be enhanced to ensure night time safety of women in Shimla. Manali-Leh highway closes for 2015
November 3 (TravelAndy): Following heavy snow fall in Rohtang Pass and Baralacha in India’s Himachal Pradesh, the Manali-Leh highway has been officially closed, said The Times of India.
Rohtang Pass, the gateway between Himachal Pradesh and the Ladakh Himalayas in Jammu and Kashmir, will be closed for tourist vehicles after November 15.

Manali apple festival to woo tourists
September 4 (TravelAndy): A two-day apple festival organised by Himachal Pradesh tourism will begin from September 6, reports said.
The apple festival first took place in August, 2008, but did not take place in subsequent years.
The festival would include an apple show and cultural programmes would be organised on Mall Road in the popular hill town. The tourism department has plans to organise apple orchard tours for visitors. Continue reading Manali apple festival to woo tourists
