SpiceJet: New flights from Hyderabad to three cities
December 27 (TravelAndy): SpiceJet has launched eight new direct flights between Hyderabad and three cities – Kolkata, Pune, and Coimbatore – from January 1, 2019.
While the Pune and Coimbatore routes will get two flights each, the Kolkata-Hyderabad route will get four flights. Also, the option for a same day return trip to and from Kolkata could benefit business travellers.
Speaking of the new flights, Shilpa Bhatia, chief sales and revenue manager, SpiceJet, said, “Hyderabad is an important market for us and we are delighted to connect the city even better. The city, famous for its delectable cuisine and tourism, is also an IT hub. Our two new flights from the city to Kolkata offers same day travel option which will benefit thousands of flyers who frequent the city for business thereby boosting the state’s growth prospects.”

Jet to start three new flights
October 10 (TravelAndy): Jet Airways will introduce three new international services to its global network this winter, besides reinforcing six existing routes with additional flights.
The carrier will introduce its first non-stop service between New Delhi and Riyadh. It will also deploy additional flights on the Mumbai-Riyadh, Mumbai-Kuwait, Delhi-Doha and Delhi-Dammam sectors.
Effective October 29, 2017, new non-stop flights will commence connecting Bengaluru and Chennai to the airline’s gateways in Amsterdam and Paris as part of the carrier’s strategy to connect more cities, especially in South India to destinations in Europe and North America. GoAir to connect Hyderabad from Oct 12
Tha airline will operate daily flights from Hyderabad to Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and Port Blair, said the airline.
Tickets for their flights are already on sale.
The airline currently operates over 140 daily flights and approximately 975 weekly flights across 22 destinations.
Cauvery protest hits tourism in Karnataka
September 13 (TravelAndy): Following protests regarding the river Cauvery, tourism has taken a blow in several cities including Bengaluru and Mysuru in India’s Karnataka state.
After India’s top court directed Karnataka state to share a fixed volume of Cauvery river water with its neighbouring state Tamil Nadu, protest against the decision erupted across the state.

Air Asia to offer tickets from INR1099
March 6 (TravelAndy): Air Asia is all set to offer tickets at all-inclusive discounted one way fare starting from INR1099, on select domestic routes.
Tickets can be booked from March 7 to March 13, for a travel period of October 1, 2016 to May 22, 2017.

GoAir starts night flights to Port Blair
January 26 (TravelAndy): Indian low cost carrier GoAir has become the first domestic airline to operate night flights to Port Blair, said reports.
The airline rolled out a commercial charter flight to Port Blair from Bengaluru on January 22, which left Bengaluru at 11.15pm and reached Port Blair at1.50am the next day.

Tipu palace now disabled-friendly
October 4 (TravelAndy): The Tipu Sultan summer palace in Bengaluru has become the first disabled-friendly monument in the state of Karnataka and the third in India, reported The Hindu.
Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) along with Arushi, a Bhopal-based NGO, have developed tactile paths within the palace premises. These paths would assist physically challenged visitors.

Nepal Airlines resumes Mumbai flights
September 6 (TravelAndy): In what is good news for Nepal tourism, the Himalayan country’s flagship carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) resumed flights to Mumbai in India from Friday, said reports.
NAC had discontinued flights between Nepal’s capital Kathmandu and Mumbai in 2006 due to reported lack of aircrafts.

AirAsia announces Bengaluru-Bangkok flight
July 1 (TravelAndy): Low-cost airline AirAsia has announced direct flights between Bengaluru and Bangkok from September 1.
The airline will fly five times a week on this route with one way all-in fares starting from INR3,999.

Air Pegasus connects Bengaluru to Madurai
June 26 (TravelAndy): India-based budget airline Air Pegasus is set to start flying between Bengaluru and Madurai from June 26, with one way all-inclusive fares starting from INR1,234.
The new airline will be the only one to fly on this route.
