June 27 (TravelAndy): The Kurukshetra administration has invited suggestions from experts and the general public on ways to promote tourism at this historically and mythologically significant place, said reports.
The battle in India’s most famous epic, Mahabharat, took place in Kurukshetra.
Though there is enough interest among tourists about this place, it has never experienced organised tourism.
Consequently, the deputy commissioner of Kurukshetra, which is situated in Haryana, has invited suggestions from experts and the general public. The suggestions can be either mailed to dckkr@nic.in or posted on the official website of Kurukshetra tourism by June 29.
Major tourist attractions in and around Kurukshetra include Jyotisar – the mythologically significant banyan tree, Krishna Museum – the only archeological museum in the world dedicated to the Lord Krishna. Brahmasarovar and Sannihit Sarovar attract lakhs of pilgrims.
It also has scientific attractions in form of The Kalpana Chawla Planetarium and Kurukshetra Panorama and Science Centre.
