May 8 (TravelAndy): In a first, India’s Maharashtra state has decided to offer tourists with facilities such as caravan and shack accommodation on its beaches, said The Times of India.
If things go to plan, tourists visiting Maharashtra, will soon be able to camp overnight on its beaches.
“The site should be eco-friendly and have facilities such as food, recreation, relaxation and lockers, besides electricity, water supply and sewer facilities,” the report quoted a state tourism policy as saying.
The beaches that can potentially be selected for the caravan and camping sites include Tarkali, Ranpar, Guhagar, Ganpatipule and Velneshwar.
