September 1 (TravelAndy): JetBlue, the American low-cost carrier, launched a daily direct flight service between Cuba and America, yesterday.
In what is a historic event, a scheduled commercial flight resumed between Cuba and the United States of America (USA), after 55 years.
JetBlue flew it’s first commercial flight from Fort Lauderdale, USA to Santa Clara in Cuba, which touched down in Cuba at 11.00, yesterday.
“For the first time in decades, families separated by only a short stretch of water can easily and affordably visit a loved one, attend an important occasion or visit a special place,” Robin Hayes, president and chief executive officer, JetBlue said in a release.
