May 23 (TravelAndy): India’s western state of Maharashtra will equip some of its royal forts with facilities that would attract tourists, said The Times of India.
Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation has shortlisted five forts for development — Ramshej fort in Nashik, Harihar in Trimbakeshwar, Ankai Tankai near Yeola, Salher and Mulher near Satana.
The infrastructure to be introduced in and around each fort are a facilitation centre, tourists’ study centre, washrooms, restaurants, gift and local handicraft centre, parking, lodging and electrification.
These facilities are expected to attract both trekkers and tourists.
