Abu Dhabi woos Indian tourists

Abu DhabiAugust 6 (TravelAndy): Abu Dhabi intends to attract an increased number of Indian tourists during the second half of 2015.

Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA) is offering customised tour packages for Indians.

With Etihad Airways and Jet Airways are offering close to 200 flights every week from 14 Indian destinations to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) capital of Abu Dhabi, tourist foot fall is expected to increase.

“Abu Dhabi with its entertainment options, iconic properties, culture, heritage and adventure is a complete destination for a completely new holiday experience,” a report quoted TCA Abu Dhabi country manager for India Bejan Dinshaw as saying.

The major tourist spots in an around the country include Emirates Palace, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Yas Island, desert safari, adventure sports and Saadiyat Island Cultural district.

The focus on India is expected to boost tourism because apart from leisure travel, Abu Dhabi is a preferred destination for weddings and honeymoon among Indians, said Dinshaw.
