January 2 (TravelAndy): Uttarakhand is all set to host the state’s third spring bird festival in Doon valley from February 11 to 14, The Times of India reported.
The five spots in Doon valley identified for the festival include Asan Conservation Reserve – Timli forest, Forest Research Institute – Jhajhra, Rajpur-Sahastardhara, Thano -Maldevta reserve forest and Rajaji Tiger Reserve.
“The bird festival will help to scale up bird awareness, bird watching activity and benefits through bird tourism and eco-tourism,” DVS Khati, chief wildlife warden, Uttarakhand said.
The festival will include guided bird tours, heritage walks, butterfly walks, plant orientation and nature walks and seminar on bird tourism. Close to 5000 participants are expected to be part of the event.
This initiative is also expected to showcase the offbeat travel destinations and forest reserves of Dehradun.
