August 1 (TravelAndy): India’s youngest state Telangana will celebrate its first Krishna Pushkaralu, the holy festival along the river Krishna, from August 12.
This festival is celebrated along the bank of the river once every 12 years. It continues for 12 days at a stretch. Krishna Pushkaralu is celebrated along the course of the river in the staes of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana.
This year, the Krishna Pushkaralu will be celebrated from August 12 to August 23.
A large number of visitors and pilgrims come to take a holy dip in the river during this time.
The biggest celebrations take place at Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.
