The airline will operate three flights a week – on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

This will be the first direct flight on this route.

Return airfares will start from around INR15,500, which is cheaper than other travel options on this route.

“We are playing a crucial role in supporting regional connectivity as well as the growth of tourism and trade in the region,” said Mihin Lanka head of commercial Rohana Perera.

Mihin Lanka was launched in 2007. It currently flies to several destinations in the Indian subcontinent, the middle east and South East Asia.
