Sri Lanka waives visa fees in low rainy season
Colombo (TAN): Sri Lanka is set to offer free visas to citizens of more than 30 countries, including the US, UK, European Union and Thailand in an effort to attract tourists during the low Yala monsoon season.
“We will start granting a free visa period for six months from 1 May 2019 for some selected countries during our off-peak period,” The Independent quoted the country’s tourism minister John Amaratunga as saying.
“In the next phase of this programme, we plan to set up a permanent system at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) to issue visas on arrival, as is the practice in many countries.” Continue reading Sri Lanka waives visa fees in low rainy season
Monsoon attractions galore for visitors to Goa
June 16 (TravelAndy): Monsoon isn’t the busiest time in Goa, but the tourism department of the popular beach state in south India is promoting a number of activities, festivals and less-popular beaches in an effort to keep the tourists coming in the lean season.
Goa Tourism, through its Twitter handle @TourismGoa, which has more than 27,200 followers, is promoting activities such as monsoon trekking, white water rafting, spice plantation tours and island visits.
It is also highlighting relatively unknown beaches such as Cola, 5km north of the popular Agonda beach, Benaulim, 2km south of Colva and Arossim beach. Continue reading Monsoon attractions galore for visitors to Goa
