App to identify squalor at tourist spots
February 22 (TravelAndy): The Union government has launched an app that will let tourists to send pictures of dirty areas at tourist spots to the authorities, said reports.
Named Swachh Paryatan App, the facility will start working at 25 heritage monuments, including Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri, Humayun’s Tomb, Qutab Minar and Red Fort.
“People can send the picture of dirty places and immediate action will be taken. Besides, people can also send their suggestions in bringing improvement at the tourist sites,” India’s tourism minister Mahesh Sharma said. Continue reading App to identify squalor at tourist spots
Almora’s Android app for tourists
January 31 (TravelAndy): Almora, located in the India’s mountain state of Uttarakhand, has come up with Heaven Almora, an Android application that will serve as a tourist guide to the visitors, TOI said.
The app, designed by the disaster management department of Almora, is aimed at providing tourists information about the tourist attractions of the place, weather advisories including road blockades, landslide and rainfall.
