New Delhi (TAN): India-based budget carrier SpiceJet has introduced 20 new domestic flights, 18 of which will connect Mumbai to several cities across the country.
For the first time, the airline launched daily flights to connect Mumbai with Thiruvananthapuram, Vijayawada and Tirupati.
Frequencies on various routes from Mumbai to cities including Kolkata, Goa, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kanpur, and Patna will be increased. While Hyderabad will get a sixth frequency, Kolkata will be given a fifth frequency.
All the new flights will operate daily, except the one on the Mumbai-Kolkata route. The flight between Mumbai and Kolkata will operate on all days of the week except Wednesdays and Sundays.
The new flights are expected to improve connections between the country’s financial capital and other metro and non-metro cities.
SpiceJet will use its Boeing 737 NG aircraft to serve all the routes.
According to the schedule, flight 6437 from Mumbai Terminal 2 will take off at 1545 hours daily to land in Thiruvananthapuram at 2140 hours. The return flight 6438 will leave Thiruvananthapuram at 1810 hours, reaching Mumbai Terminal 2 at 2035 hours.
Flight 6421 will depart Mumbai Terminal 2 at 0825 hours, arriving in Kolkata at 1105 hours, while return flight 6422 will leave Kolkata at 1155 hours to reach Mumbai Terminal 2 at 1455 hours.
