March 21 (TravelAndy): The Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Ltd. recently published a food chart with official rates to make passengers aware.
Passengers on Indian Railways often complain how unscrupulous employees charge them more than the official rate for food on trains.
The corporation published the rates on Twitter through its handle @IRCTC_Ltd, which has around 49,100 followers.
“Dear passengers, know your entitlement,” said the tweet that accompanied the rate chart.
While tea and coffee is priced at INR7, vegetarian and non-vegetarian standard breakfast costs INR30 and INR35 respectively. A standard vegetarian lunch or dinner meal costs INR50 while the non-vegetarian variant costs INR55. One litre of packaged drinking water costs INR15.
