Zika advisory for Miami tourists
August 20 (TravelAndy): Following the fresh outbreak of Zika virus in Florida’s popular beach destination Miami, the Centre for Disease Control in the American state issued a travel advisory on Friday.
The advisory warns pregnant women and their sexual partners from travelling to Miami.

US: Breaks park welcomes rock climbers
June 24 (TravelAndy): Adventure enthusiasts in the US can now go rock climbing at the Breaks Interstate Park in Kentucky.
Breaks Interstate Park, located inside Jefferson National Forest, situated between the states of Kentucky and Virginia, has recently opened as an official rock climbing sport.

Nevada to open tourism office in New Delhi
January 27 (TravelAndy): In a bid to attract Indian tourists, the US state of Nevada has decided to open their tourism office in India’s capital New Delhi, said reports.
“Opening an office in India will provide Nevada with greater opportunities to promote international travel and tourism to our state,” said Nevada Lieutenant governor, Thomas Hutchinson.
With the tourist hotspot Las Vegas, Nevada is one of the most travelled states of the US. However, with the upcoming tourism office in New Delhi, Nevada seeks to introduce Indians to many other off beat destinations of the state, which include untouched mountains, adventure sites, cowboy trails and others. Air India to fly Delhi-San Francisco
September 28 (TravelAndy): India’s flagship carrier Air India has announced a non-stop flight from New Delhi to San Francisco on the US west coast from December 2.
“We are launching a direct non-stop flight to the San Francisco on December 2 as there was a demand for it,” DNA quoted Air India CMD Ashwani Lohani as saying.

United Airlines resumes Belfast-NY flight
August 5 (TravelAndy): United Airlines has decided to restore year-round flight services between Belfast in Ireland and New York, from 2016.
This will mark the only direct air link between Northern Ireland and the US.

Air India seeks US customs check in Delhi, Mumbai
June 12 (TravelAndy): India’s flagship airline Air India is seeking to have all immigration, customs and agriculture requirements for US-bound passengers at the Delhi and Mumbai airports, reports said.
If this works out, passengers will be able to simply collect their bags and walk off like domestic fliers after landing in the US.
This facility is already available at the airports in Dublin and Abu Dhabi.
Maui beaches closed after ‘shark attack’
April 30 (TravelAndy): Authorities have cleared and closed the waters in south Maui after a 65-year-old woman was found dead off the shore, said reports.
The woman had wounds on her torso implying she was attacked by a shark. But, other than that, there was no other evidence or witness.
“The victim reportedly was snorkelling with two other friends and at some point separated from the others,” the fire department reportedly said. “She was alone when she was found.”
Waters from Big Beach to La Perouse Bay in south Maui have been closed.
Orlando-Havana flights from July
April 13 (TravelAndy): Non-stop flights between Orlando in Florida, US, and Havana, Cuba, will start operating on July 8, Greater Orlando Aviation Authority has said.
“With the changing dynamics in the relationship between the US and Cuban governments, we are pleased to offer these flight options to residents in Central Florida,” said Phil Brown, Executive Director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.
In the first phase, Island Travel & Tours will operate a weekly flight on Wednesdays. A Sunday flight will be added later in the summer.
