June 18 (TravelAndy): India has made the beautiful Ladakh region of its Jammu and Kashmir state more accessible to foreign tourists.

According to reports, the government has eased the process of seeking protected area and restricted area permits.

Now, both solo foreigner visitors and groups can get protected area permits in just 10 days, instead of the earlier situation when it took a month.

Also, foreign visitors can apply for the Ladakh permit within a month of the expected date of travel, instead of earlier two months time.

With this move, both Pangong Tso and Nubra valley will no longer be out of bounds for solo international travellers. Earlier, foreigners travelling alone were not permitted to visit these places.

However, the permit will only be given to foreigners who travel for the purpose of tourism and religion.
