Budget airlines increase excess baggage fees

rp_bag-back-300x3001.jpgJuly 23 (TravelAndy): India’s low cost airlines GoAir, Indigo and AirAsia India have increased excess baggage fees, following a government directive to rationalise excess baggage, said reports.

Passengers travelling in these three airlines will have to pay INR300 for every kilogram of luggage in excess of 20kg, confirmed the websites of the airlines. Earlier, this charge was INR250.

At present, all domestic carriers, except Air India, allow a free check-in luggage of 15kg.

India’s flagship carrier Air India allows passengers to carry 25kg of free check-in luggage.
