February 26 (TravelAndy): Low cost carrier airBaltic, which is the flagship carrier of Latvia, will introduce a direct flight between Riga, the Latvian capital and Abu Dhabi, the capital of UAE.

The route will commence from October 29, 2017, said the airline.

Four flights a week will operate on the new route.

“Abu Dhabi is a strategic aviation hub in the Middle East and its landmark tourist attractions such as Formula 1 and Ferrari World will attract many travellers from the Baltics and Scandinavia,” said Martin Gauss, chief executive officer of airBaltic.

The airline operates to 60 destinations, which span across Europe, Scandinavia, CIS and the Middle East.
